The answer depends on your vehicle insurance policy. For glass repairs, most insurance companies waive the excess so you will not have to pay anything out of pocket. In fact, many insurance companies do not even count glass repairs as a claim, thus ensuring your “no claims bonus” is unaffected. For glass replacement, you may not have to pay anything out of pocket if your policy includes full glass coverage. However, if your policy includes an excess for glass replacement, then you will be responsible for the excess amount and your insurance provider will be responsible for anything over the excess amount.
